The Okehampton Tennis Club's Mens A Team have had two more successful matches this week.  At home to Exeter Golf and Country Club, they were missing Andy Herrod-Taylor and Adam Richards but the successful partnership of Mark Gibbs and John Jarvis from the B team, stepped in and helped Oke to a comprehensive 8-1 victory.

In the second match Oke had Adam and Andy back for their toughest opposition of the season as they travelled to Seaton last Tuesday night.  Adam Richards and Paul Love struggled in both of their matches and were happy to come away with a point against Seaton's strongest pair, losing 4-6, 7-6, 8-10.  Adam served well throughout both matches but could not get to grips with any groundstrokes whilst Paul kept his groundstrokes steady but served a high number of double faults.  Despite this, they beat Seatons second pairing 7-6, 6-1.

Andy Herrod-Taylor was also rusty in the first rubber, but Dan Arnots consistancy helped carry them through to a straight sets win against Seatons second pair 6-4, 6-4.  In the second rubber, against Seatons strongest pair, Andy managed to pick his game up and the Oke pair pulled off another straight sets win of 7-5, 7-5.

With half of the fixtures now played, Oke have stretched their lead at the top of division three and are firm favourites for promotion.  They play Willand, at home, tomorrow night.
