A 43-year old Okehampton man has appeared in court today (Monday) charged with raping a woman four years ago.

Martin Smith, of Castle Road, Okehampton, is accused of raping a woman aged 16 or over in the town in September 2021.

Exeter Magistrates’ Court sent the case for trial at Exeter Crown Court.

Smith will appear before a judge next month and was granted bail.
