THERE was a good turnout of 17 cyclists last Thursday to participate in the first event of the Okehampton CC Summer time trials series.

The 10 mile course traces the old A30 road from Bridestowe to Lewdown and back. Andy Retter took honours on the night with a time of 26.51. Full results: A Retter, 26.51; A Grey 27.18; S Podd 27.25; A Bowyer 27.38; M Cory 28.03; A Bellew 28, 55. Jacky Rice 29.07; C Hariades 29.24; B Kirkwin 29.36; M Rice 29.40; S Bull 30.08; R Yells 31.31; T Green 32.23; R Windermere 32.56; D Chrome 33.18; M Holden 33.29; Sharon Bridgeman 35.22.

On Sunday club members Jamie Fabrizio and Emily Adkin flew the flag for the club by taking part in St. Austell Wheelers 25 mile time trial which was also a South West TT championship event. Both achieved excellent times and Emily's efforts were rewarded as she was the fastest female competitor and was awarded the ladies championship medal.

Last Wednesday aslo Jamie and Emily turned out for the Exeter Wheelers cycle club 10 mile time trial at Honiton. Finishing times: J Fabrizio 22.34; E Adkin 24.44.
