Okehampton councillors are organising a ’Memorandum of Understanding’ with Okehampton Hamlets Parish Council which would see an agreement between the two councils to work together more closely.
Following disagreements over whether Okehampton Hamlets should contribute towards the cost of the public toilets under the town council’s management, town councillors are now urging both councils to work together towards the improvement of the town as a whole.
Cllr Julie Yelland said: ’We need to make every effort to work with the Hamlets as much as possible.’
