THE annual Gunnislake Festival was heralded a great success this year and a revamped committee is now gearing up for next year's event.
At the recent annual meeting, chair of the festival committee Gill Pengelly felt the festival in the summer exceeded expectations and there was a general feeling that the mix of art, music, history and dance combined to make the event one of the best since its inauguration in 2001.
With the recently formed Gunnislake Local Amateur Dramatic Society (GLAD) planning its first production, a pantomime, and promising to support the festival again next August 1 to 4, the village is well placed to produce an even more entertaining programme in 2012.
Gill Pengelly was re-eleced as the chair of the committee with Lynne Southcott taking over as secretary and Steve Sheasby as treasurer.
Thanks were expressed to Penny and Tom O'Neill who held those positions for the last few years but who will remain on the committee.
