THE search is on for the cast of the latest musical to be held in Okehampton. The Courtenay Players are putting on the musical, 'Oh! What A Lovely War!' in October. They are now looking for actors, singers and musicians to become involved with the show. The musical is one of the most important anti-war shows ever produced. It was written in 1963 by Charles Chilton and Joan Littlewood and tells the story of the first world war by using songs and humour of the time. It has since become classic musical theatre and is still produced worldwide. Anybody interested in being involved in the show is urged to attend an 'open reading' to be held in Fairplace Church on Wednesday March 12 at 7.30pm. The show runs from October 27 to October 31 and is open to anybody over the age of 13. There are parts for all, including backstage roles. Anybody wishing further information should contact players secretary, Stan Stormont, on 01837 55481.
