A FORMER Tavistock College student is flying high after graduating as a Royal Air Force officer from a prestigious military college.

Kirstie Ingrams, 23, (pictured right) graduated as a Flying Officer from the No 18 Initial Officer Training course at the Officer and Aircrew Cadet Training Unit at RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire.

Kirstie attended Tavistock College before graduating from the University of the West of England with a BSc in Geography and Environmental Management. She was also a member of 2312 (Tavistock) Squadron Air Training Corps.

She joined the RAF in August last year and will soon begin her professional training at the Central Air Traffic Control School at RAF Shawbury in Shropshire.

On her graduation day, Kirstie joined 143 other cadets to parade in front of Air Marshall Sir Stuart Peach, chief of Joint Operations and Permanent Joint Headquarters.
