THIS was a close game with a try apiece both scored by the No 8s.

Rob Long picking up at a scrum on the halfway, going on the blindside and handing off three Launceston players to score under the post, Tom Browne converting. Launceston's No 8 scored just before half time.

In the second half play went from 22 to 22. Will Heard played well at scrum-half, putting pressure on his opposite number. All the forwards of Simpson, McGratton, Bennie, Crocker, Bullngham, James Heard, Long and Friend worked hard and well.

Michael Aylen at wing tackled the Launceston No 8 well and Adam Clarke, first time at full-back, put in two superb tackles to help secure a fine win.

Bideford U13s 0

OKEHAMPTON's forwards totally controlled this game. Rob Long scored first from a five-metre scrum and a second came from a poor Bideford lineout tap on the halfway which Long picked up and ran in.

Prop Stuart Bennie, running from halfway, was tackled just short of the try line, but five minutes later took a pass on the 22 to run in to score.

Only the first half was played.
