A TAVISTOCK woman will be launching her first ever novel on Valentine's Day at the town's Bookstop. Jackie Waddle, aka Anna West, has been writing for 12 years and has delved into many different types of creative writing before settling to what interested her most — novel writing. 'Breaking New Ground' is a contemporary romantic novel and features Adele Parker winning a TV competition to have her garden revamped. Her good luck grows when her neighbours join her and they all cash in on an unexpected opportunity. The front cover artwork is by Celia Duncan who occasionally exhibits and sells artwork in the area. Celia's artwork was used for the front cover of the programme for 'Tavistock Sings' last year. In the past Jackie has organised writing competitions, studied creative writing through various courses at Exeter University and ran workshops on creative writing, particularly on romantic fiction. The launch of her book is being held on Thursday, February 14 from 11am and then on Friday, February 15 from 6pm to 8pm at Café Liaison in Tavistock.
