FOUR Tavistock Athletic Club runners will represent their counties at the Inter-County Cross Country Championships this Saturday in Nottingham.
For Adam Holland, Alex Richards, Richard Drage and Martin Exley this is just reward for a successful winter cross country season.
They all did well in their respective county championships and Adam qualified as under 17 men?s county champion.
But they have also run magnificently in the competitive Westward League series so are all worthy representatives. Adam, Alex and Richard will represent Devon and Martin runs for Cornwall.
Tavistock athletes will also be competing at both ends of Devon this weekend with the seniors out in force at the Bideford Half Marathon and the juniors in Dawlish for the last Sportshall League meeting.
The Bideford race has become increasingly popular for Tavistock runners over the past few years and more than 25 will make the journey to compete. Meanwhile, the juniors will be on a victory parade this Sunday ? their 900-point lead in the Sportshall League must surely be too commanding to overhaul so there will be celebrations and medals aplenty come Sunday evening.
