Chagford Show organisers have confirmed that there will be no sheep and cattle at tomorrow’s show due to the ongoing bluetongue outbreak.

Instead, visitors can expect a range of horse events, terrier racing, a Mid Devon Foxhound parade, a performance by the Hatherleigh Silver Band, a tractor parade, dog agility courses and a public tug-of-war at the end of the day. Food, entertainment, and shopping opportunities at a variety of stalls will also be available.

There will also be a talk by Ashley Rubens from Moorgate Vets on bluetongue at 10:30am in the NFU tent for anyone interested.

Bluetongue is a mosquito-borne disease that affects sheep and cattle and has been exacerbated by the recent dry weather.

The show will run from 8:30am to 6pm at Dogmarsh Field, Mill End near Chagford.
