MEMBERS of the Tamar Valley Methodist Church at Albaston celebrated the ninth anniversary of the church's opening recently.
The Rev Steve Wild from Truro, chairman of the Cornwall District, was the special preacher and lessons were read by Wendy Dore and Joan Jelly. Organist was Joan Bose and visitors enjoyed coffee after the service.
The celebration continued with an afternoon workshop, 'All Called to Serve', led by Mr Wild, and a bring and share tea was held afterwards.
In the evening a circuit welcome service for the Rev David Stolton, from Delaware, was led by the Rev Martyn Smith, superintendent of the Callington and Gunnislake Circuit.
Mr Stolton, a Plymouth pharmacist, was a minister in the Tavistock Circuit, until he joined the Callington and Gunnislake Circuit in September.
Lessons were read by Donna Perry, circuit steward, and John Stolton, the son of David Stolton.
Andrew Williams sang a solo, entitled 'What Shall I Give Thee, Master?' and the sermon was preached by Mr Wild.
