NINE Days of Art is set to sweep the county. A total of 420 artists and craftspeople will be exhibiting in 260 venues — many of them in West Devon.
Young, emerging names are exhibiting alongside internationally established artists in their studios and homes, in galleries, village halls, hotels, country houses and many other beautiful locations.
The event is organised by the STRAW Project — an artist-led initiative which celebrates the art and the artists of the region. Caroline Keane who will be exhibiting at her Parkwood Road, Tavistock home said the event was about 'making art accessible'.
'To see artists in their home surroundings brings the art much closer to anyone looking at it. People are invited in to be part of the experience. The event is quite a magical dance where the public can meet the artists and enjoy part of their vision of the world,' she said.
Nine Days of Art runs in North Devon from September 14-22 and South Devon from September 21 to 29. Contact 01392 664103 for more details or visit http://www.ninedaysofart.co.uk">www.ninedaysofart.co.uk
