FOLLOWING the closure of Pillars Newsagents in Tavistock, there are new ways to get the latest copy of the Tavistock Times delivered straight to your door.

The newsagents shocked its customers at the beginning of August when it announced it had been forced to cease trading by posting a notice on the shop’s door.

It is understood that around 400 residents lost their newspaper delivery service when Pillars closed.

As well as being able to organise a delivery directly with us at the Times, newspaper delivery company NewsTeam Group is working to restart widespread newspaper deliveries to Tavistock and the surrounding areas.

Bob Kennett, a NewsTeam spokesman, said: ‘We are now working with community interest company TASS and other community groups to ensure deliveries. When these sort of things happen, it disproportionately affects those who can’t get out to buy their paper. We have managed to trace about 100 people who have lost their deliveries but are happy to hear from others who still need their paper delivered.’

You can contact the team at the Times office on 01822 613666 or call into our offices on Brook Street to speak to a member of our team, who can help secure a home delivery.
