Parishioners of Buckland Monachorum gathered at the village cemetery last Thursday to take part in a dedication ceremony for the new lych gate.

The lych gate underwent major refurbishment earlier in the year, including having the gate roof supports replaced and new oak gates made by the Tamar Joinery Company.

The parish council was able to undertake the project following a receipt of a generous bequest from parishioner Ethel Lilian Hatch, to whom the dedication ceremony was to honour and thank.

The Rev Graham Cotter conducted the service.
