MOUNT House School Pre-prep has appointed a new head to take over from Mrs Elizabeth Morgan in September.
Mrs Julia Hallinan is currently teaching at Wellington Junior School and will bring with her an enormous range of interests and experience.
She hold a first class honours degree in education, and has experience from foundation stage to Year 4. She also has a strong background in infant music, drama and a specific interest in how children learn.
Personal interests range from scuba diving, handicraft, the piano and singing.
She is fluent in French and Italian, is vice-chairman of her community association, a parish councillor and a group scout leader.
Mrs Hallinan said she was ?really looking forward to joining Mount House?.
?Bids Morgan and her team have created such a rich environment for the children and it is a great opportunity for me to try to take this on and build on it,? she said.
The current head, Mrs Morgan, was instrumental in the setting up of the Mount House Pre-prep in 1996. She was fully involved in the development not only of the purpose-built building, but also in establishing the unique ethos that is a central feature of the school.
The school received an outstanding Ofsted report for the foundation stage last term under her leadership.
