A NEW weekly event will be launched at Tavistock Methodist Church this weekend.

Responding to the need for an earlier time of worship, the church is launching a 9.15am weekly event, starting on September 6.

The Rev Jeff Moles said: 'Families have numerous commitments and many want to explore the Christian faith, as well as meet other family responsibilities on Sundays.

'Our aim is to have exciting, enjoyable and interesting worship, appropriate for all ages, that allows time for all the other things that families want to do.'

The event will last 45 to 50 minutes.

The current well-attended Sunday morning worship, with children's activities, will still continue, starting at 10.45am.
