Okehampton Ladies . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .3

A COLD and wintry afternoon brought the Ladies their final home game and three more points to add to their season's total.
No goals were scored in the first half, despite attempts from both ends. Kerry Drew made some excellent saves to keep Okehampton on a level playing field and the midfield and forwards tested Exeter's defence but no goals came.
It wasn't until the last half an hour of the match that Okehampton took the lead.
The home team had begun to string together some good passing, which led to some good attacking play, when Sarah Blowey took a shot from the edge of the box that passed the keeper and gave Okehampton a goal.
The Ladies usually settle after the first goal has gone in, but not today. It was not until Sarah's second of the afternoon that they relaxed. Exeter Rangers defended an attack but the ball came to Sarah and she walloped it into the back of the net.
Time was ticking on for Rangers, but they continued to pursue a goal throughout the second half. Okehampton sealed the victory with a lovely goal from Naomi Wilkins just before the end. A chilly game, but a nice way to end the last home match.
