Northlew Amateur Dramatic Society has a busy schedule lined up, following a successful performance over the jubilee weekend.

Under the new chairmanship of Lyn Taylor, the group presented a series of tableaux depicting important events throughout the six decades of the Queen's reign at the village's celebrations on Saturday.

The scenes depicted included the coronation, the first moon landing in 1969, England's victory in the 1966 World Cup, and the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.

NADS has also made plans to stage a dinner and murder mystery play in October, a pantomime in February 2013 and are discussing the possibility of producing a ful-length farce.

With such a busy schedule, the group could always use new members. Lyn Taylor said: 'It's going to be a busy year for NADS but we really would welcome some more members to help both behind the scenes and of course treading the boards.

'We are particularly short of younger members, and, who knows, the next Daniel Radcliffe or Emma Watson has to come from somewhere.'
