THE beautiful Gunnislake to Plymouth Tamar Valley Line is to play host to local musicians this summer, on board a series of special ?music train? events. The music trains provide a fun and unique evening combining live music, local brewed real ale and a train journey. Lyn Winter, of Devon and Cornwall Rail Partnership, said: ?Music trains are great fun and the bands are excellent. ?After all, how often can you say you?ve sat on a train sipping a pint of local real ale, or enjoying a glass of wine, whilst singing along or tapping your foot to a live band? Probably not very often!? The music trains will run on the first Friday of the month between June and September. Local folk band Jarca and jazz quartet Select Four will be providing the entertainment, with the folk trains running on June 3 and August 5, and the jazz trains on July 1 and September 2. An on-train bar will provide locally brewed real ale, wine and soft drinks. The trains leave Plymouth Station at 7.24pm ? the round trip takes about one and a half hours. An adult cheap day return costs £5.20, children aged five-15 £2.60. A group saver ticket is available for four passengers for £10.40.
