ASPIRING writers have the opportunity to be inspired by the forgotten voices of soldiers and local people who lived through the First World War when the Museum of Dartmoor Life in Okehampton hosts a practical historical fiction writing workshop this month.

The workshop will be led by Myfanwy Cook, a prize winning short fiction writer and who has written numerous commissioned articles on the craft of writing and writers.

She has had more than 120 stories published in the UK and Australia, including historical and romantic fiction.

She is dedicated to providing aspiring writers with the opportunity to practise and experiment with the range of skills that are appropriate to the type of fiction and creative writing that they would like to master.

The workshop, which is for people aged 18 and over, will run on Saturday, November 15 from 10am until 12.30pm and costs £5 per person.

Booking is essential.
