COMMUNITIES across Devon must support their local markets and experience the superb range of produce on offer, says Central Devon Tory MP Mel Stride.
Mr Stride is backing markets and their surrounding communities, such as at Hatherleigh, to help keep business local and provide vital support to the county's economy.
On a visit to Hatherleigh Market, he met local producers and saw first-hand the excellent range of goods on offer. He said he was 'highly impressed' with ability of the market to draw people in from right across the county.
Mr Stride said: 'I was very pleased to see how busy the market was. 'These regular markets and events are crucial to sustaining our local communities and provide a vital outlet for locally-produced goods.'
Mr Stride's visit was part of his initiative to meet his rural constituents and businesses to find out how he can help them and raise concerns on their behalf in Westminster.
