THE campaign group set up to oppose plans to build a series of wind turbines on land between North Tawton and Bow holds its latest public meeting tomorrow night (Friday). West Devon and Torridge Liberal Democrat MP John Burnett and Conservative MP Angela Browning from the neighbouring Tiverton and Honiton constituency will be among those attending the meeting, which has been organised by the Den Brook Valley Action Group. The action group was set up after developers RES (Renewable Energy Systems) were granted planning permission last year to install a 50-metre trial anemometer on land at Crooke Burnell, to assess the wind speed at the site with regard to its suitability for a wind turbine development. The meeting is the latest step in the group?s campaign to oppose proposals to build anything from ten 328ft high turbines to 19 turbines of 262ft high, which would be visible from Dartmoor. The meeting takes place at North Tawton town hall tomorrow at 7pm.
