MOUNT House girls' hockey first seven performed well in a tournament at Blundell's School, and were rewarded when they came out winners of the plate competition.
Mount House girls played with great skill, spirit and tenacity. In their group matches, they drew with The Downs School and beat Exeter Cathedral 4-0 before losing against a strong Taunton side 0-1. Finishing second in their group qualified them for the plate, where they beat King's Hall and Wellington School, both by 1-0 to take the plate.
Leading goalscorers for Mount were Elsa Kent with three and Lizzy Fearnley and Issy Cox with two each.
At the King's Bruton tournament, the Mount House U11s emerged from the pool round as the best runner-up, with two wins and a draw from their three matches.
In the semi-finals they were beaten 1-0 on sudden death. After drawing with Monkton in a play-off, Mount House finished third overall.
