POLICE are appealing for motorists not to leave valuables on display, after a break in to a people carrier on Dartmoor.

Between 2.30pm and 6.20pm on Friday in the Poundsgate area, the driver's door-lock of a black Mazda Bongo was forced.

Stolen from the vehicle were a wallet, £165 in cash, two Sony mobile phones, bank cards and a Microsoft Zune MP3 player worth £300.

Police are advising people not to leave any valuables on display in parked vehicles — even in isolated spots such as Dartmoor.

Anyone who is offered such items for sale or who has any information is asked to call police on 08452 777444 quoting police ref. JA/10/50.
