Pinhoe 1
Okehampton Argyle 2
OKEHAMPTON continue to surprise everyone by picking up valuable points away from home. But they need to start collecting points from home games to move up the league table and and off the relegation zone.
Under sticky conditions both sides found it difficult to play pretty football, and although the first half was evenly contested, Pinhoe just had the edge, and went in at half-time one up from a well taken goal by Dan Melhuish.
The second half followed a similar pattern, with Sean Sandercock in Argyle?s goal pulling off important saves to keep them in contention.
With the whole team playing well, Argyle drew level with a goal from Steve Williams. Then with just ten minutes to go Adam Mortimer snatched the winner.
This result saw Pinhoe drop a place to eighth position in the league and Argyle leapfrog over Sidmouth to third from bottom.
Argyle have a good chance to change positions with Budleigh A, who are fourth from bottom, when the two teams meet at Simmons Park this Saturday, kick-off 2.30pm.
Okehampton supporters will be pleased to know that full back Kevin Gill has returned from his nine month ?walkabout? Down Under, and hopefully will soon rejoin the defence alongside fellow backpacker Daniel Johnston, who recently returned from America.
