MORE than £1,100 was raised on Monday (February 19) in memory of 22-year-old Chloe Hunn, from Callington, who recently died after a 16-month battle with cancer.
Local residents took part in a coffee morning at Callington Scout Hut to raise funds for St Luke’s Hospice, Plymouth, where Chloe had stayed.
Saffron Ray, organiser of the event, said: ‘We ran it for St Luke’s Hospice where Chloe spent the last month of her life.
‘We raised £955 and Tesco, where Chloe worked until her passing, will add 20 per cent — so in all we raised £1,146 approximately.
‘The scout hut hire fees were also waived and all cakes were donated from the people of Callington who are friends and family and people wanting to help.’
The day was a huge success and Saffron expressed thanks to everyone who helped on the day.
