?PROPER Job? at Chagford was recently visited by officials as part of the annual planning tour of Dartmoor National Park. Representatives of Exmoor and New Forest National Parks joined their Dartmoor colleagues for the tour, which gives members of the authority an opportunity to visit sites and developments in the national park which have been approved or which have raised interesting planning issues. Issues covered by the tour included quarrying, the military use of the national park, and sites outside the park which have been the subject of windfarm proposals. In the afternoon they visited the Proper Job site at Chagford, which the DNPA has helped through its planning role and also by giving a grant from the Dartmoor Sustainable Development Fund. Aaron Custance from Proper Job gave a presentation on the organisation ? which operates a combined recycling, re-use and composting site, and a wholefood shop and cafe in town.
