THE Moorland Ladies' Group in South Zeal raised £540 for Macmillan Cancer Support when they took part in the charity's World's Biggest Coffee Morning in September.

Wartime letters inspire Okehampton writer's novelThe group (pictured), formerly the WI, reformed a few years ago to meet once a month and raise money for charity. After raising £460 at their Macmillan coffee morning last year, the group decided to do another this year and were happy to beat the previous total.
Group member Jacqueline Yeates said: 'We all know somebody who has benefitted from the wonderful work Macmillan do, and that's why we supported them by holding a coffee morning.
'Without support from Macmillan many people suffering from cancer would be left on their own.'
Sian Harris, local fundraising manager for Macmillan, said: 'I want to thank the Moorland Ladies' Group for raising a great amount for us again this year.'
