A TAVISTOCK College student has been enjoying his work experience placement with Dartmoor National Park this week.

Nathan Miles, 15 and in Year 10, is part of a group of four young people are taking part in a week working with the authority. For Nathan the week started with a day in the communications team learning about working with the media and gaining some experience of writing press releases. They will also be working with planners, business support staff, ecologists and educators.

Throughout the week they will get to understand some of the different types of work the national park is involved in.

Nathan said: 'The week will take us out of our comfort zones but what we learn will be useful information which we can take with us to help with future career choices.'
