Dartmoor National Park Authority is to extend its 'Moor to Devon' project thanks to £44,000 given by Devon County Council from funds allocated from the sale of Exeter International Airport.
The £44,000 has been allocated from the county council's economic development fund and was supported by Okehampton Rural County Councillor Christine Marsh.
The money will go towards the cost of a new information vehicle and electronic equipment to enable the national park authority to extend its outreach work to explain and celebrate what Dartmoor means to the people of Devon. It will be a low carbon emission vehicle which will tour the county.
Cllr Marsh said: 'I am very pleased to be supporting this initiative for an information vehicle which will be able to promote Dartmoor to a wider audience.'
