Plymouth Marjons D 0

Okehampton A 5

AFTER a good win last week. Okehampton A hockey team travelled to Plymouth to face a Marjons E side struggling for form.

The match started slowly with both teams feeling each other out but Oke soon started to build momentum with Nick Luxton and Toby Lloyd having numerous shots at Plymouth.

The breakthrough came after 15 minutes with Lloyd scoring with a well placed shot into the bottom left corner.

Oke then started to play fast fluid hockey with man of the match Luxton dominating most of the play upfront and eventually scored a well deserved personal goal with a strike which the Marjon keeper couldn't handle.

It was 2-0 at half time but Oke didn't rest up and managed to get the third shortly after the break with Rob Yells crossing the ball across goal which Clive Morais got the crucial touch. Then a moment of brilliance from Morais made it four going past three defenders finishing it off with a wonder strike. Oke made it five with Luxton taking a shot and Hayden Bond getting a touch to take it away from the keeper.

This could have been a game which Oke could have been accused of complacency given Marjons position in the league but instead Okehampton put in a good solid performance and the few shots Marjons had were well handled by the keeper Pete Sim and the Oke defence.

l Next week Okehampton A are away to Dart A.
