Torquay seconds 12
Okehampton seconds 17
AFTER three games, two won, one lost, this is a better start than could be expected.
The first was a great fight back to come from two tries down to win well against a strong Crediton seconds side, then came Exmouth seconds probably one of the top sides in the league, but the young Okey seconds fronted up well and apart from a 15 minute spell in the second half were always in the game, Exmouth seconds ran out convincing winners but a good lesson was learned by the seconds. The third game and first away was against Torquay seconds. After 25 minutes the seconds were two tries down, but they showed some real heart and fought back well and after a break from Rob Fishleigh the pack drove over, Phil Harding touching down for an unconverted try.
Half time saw a few positional changes and saw the seconds pick up the pace of the game after some good phases of play Simon Cox found some space on the blind side to polish off a good attack with an unconverted try. With the last move of the game Phil Harding was high tackled and from the resulting penalty, quick thinking from Rob Fishleigh nipped in the corner for a try which was converted by Carl Poynton.
