CHILDREN from OCRA Trampoline Club had a successful day at the South Devon Flyers competition in Newton Abbot recently, achieving high places and two medals.

With a higher number of entries than expected, nerves were running high and, for some of the children, this was their first competition. They handled it well, skilfully performing two routines each in front of a panel of judges. Both scores were added together to form the total mark.

Caitlin McCartney was first to step onto the podium, coming third in the under 11 grade I, followed by Amber Davey-Wright, who won gold in the under 17 grade H. Nicola Butt narrowly missed third place, coming fourth in the under 15 grade I. Katerina Westman, Isabelle Coughlin and Bjorn Westman achieved sixth, ninth and tenth place in their classes.

OCRA has recently invested in a new trampoline and end decks, and the club is looking to develop its competitive side.

OCRA Trampoline Club runs on Wednesdays in the Okehampton College gym between 6pm and 7pm and between 7pm and 8pm, at a cost of £4 per session or £6 for both.
