THE ladies of Yelverton Golf Club played a medal competition with the winner of division one being Mair Preston-Jones with a nett 72; runner-up was Barbara Collier nett 76. Division two was won by Ray Bovingdon nett 71 with the runner-up Barbara Berryman, nett 75.

Last Thursday they played a Stableford and Cancer Relief Spoon.

The division one winner was Jean James on 38 points, second Marie Deeny, 35.

In division two Sheila Brookbank won on 41 pts, second Kay Creaven 36. The Cancer Relief Spoon was won by Sheila Brookbank with her score of 41 points. Sheila's handicap has been cut from 32 to 29. Jean James also cut handicap by six.

In the Cyril Baker Challenge Cup the best eight players in a May Medal qualified for this matchplay knockout competition. Annette Sweeney wins the trophy after beating Trudi Luke in the final.
