A TEAM of Meavy C of E Primary School Year 6 boys have made it through to the schools national final for the Jaguar Cars Maths in Motion Challenge. The pupils have been using computer programmes which involve them setting up a virtual F1 racing car to race on various circuits. It involves complicated maths and measuring angles, considering fastest safe speed, how the weight of the car affects the speed, and considering this against time lost for pit stops to refuel. The winning car from the class was entered on-line into the above competition and made it into the national semi finals. In June the team will travel to Warwickshire to take part in the finals.
