THERE was blue sky for the opening of the greens at Hatherleigh Bowling Club last month.
Chairman Ralph Hunkin introduced club president Mrs Joan Weeks who said how pleased she was to see so many members present.
She extended a warm welcome to new members.
Mrs Deborah Laing-Trengrove, mayor of Hatherleigh, performed the honour of bowling the first wood of the season. Cllr Denis Bater, who opened the green last season, also received a warm welcome.
After a friendly game, everyone sat down together and enjoyed a cream tea courtesy of the president, served by Mrs Olive Reynolds.
