A FORMER Mount House pupil recently helped to create popular television documentary series Africa.
Mark Deeble was the lead photographer on the Savannah episode of the BBC Africa series. He was responsible for filming the emotional scenes of the dying baby elephant.
Based in Kenya, he and his wife, Victoria Stone, are award-winning film-makers. They were part of the critically acclaimed 'Here be Dragons', which broke ITV viewing records with an audience figure of more than eleven million. 'Devilish', a film the couple made for BBC a few years later, was to exceed this with an audience of more than 13 million for the BBC's 'Wildlife on One' series.
'Savannah' is still available to view on BBC iPlayer, and an interview with Mark can be seen towards the end of the programme.
