I WOULD like to thank all the people who took part in Milton Abbot Flower Show. The level and quality of entries surpassed all our expectations.

The show has run for over 60 years and this year there were not enough funds to run it. Derek and Sue Pearce had previously done a wonderful job running the show, but are off to a sunnier climate. I would like to thank them for keeping the show going and for their dedication and hard work.

I would also like to thank the generous prize donations we received from Beera Farmhouse B & B, Endsleigh Gardens, Robert Coley butchers, M A Post Office, Edgecumbe Arms, Carr?s Garage, Greg and Joyce Stanton and several locals who may prefer not to be named.

I would like to thank the judges and stewards who did a wonderful job on the day and Sir Richard Lawson for doing the schedules and presenting the cups and trophies.

I would like to apologise to the winners, as I got the cups and trophies mixed up and worse still forgot to present Mike Chapman?s cup, I am very sorry about this.

I would like to thank the whole of the committee for their hard work and dedication. Last but not least I would like to thank all the people in the parish and local areas for their support.

It was a privilege to be part of this revitalisation and to see just how different people can pull together in the interest of tradition and make something really special happen. Thank you to one and all, you?ve saved the show and we?ll be seeing you next year.
