ISCA D 1
Okehampton 8
OKEHAMPTON travelled to Exeter to play a very good forth placed ISCA side.
The away side started really brightly and it was not long before they started to create chances, with captain Mark Parsons firing wide before hitting the post from a short corner.
The deadlock was broken when Luke Miller managed to drill the ball home first time from the edge of the area after a good ball back across from the excellent Chris Luxton.
The home side then shocked the visitors by going straight up the other end to equalise. Luxton then turned goal scorer when a shot was deflected and he managed to turn the ball in.
Luxton got his second when good work to find him unmarked in the area, Parsons then broke through the defence and rounded the keeper to give Oke a convincing lead at half time.
The second half continued in the same fashion as an ever improved Okehampton pressed for more. It was not long before they got another goal when the every impressive Greg Williams found Luxton with a tremendous ball and the striker coolly finished to complete his hat-trick.
Parsons then added a sixth for the league leaders as they rampaged through the hosts defence - Luxton again finding the forward who buried the finish. Nick Luxton then smashed home over the keeper's head into the roof of the net and then set up Miller for his second to complete the scoring for the away side. This was Okehampton's best performance so far this season.
Okehampton mens A 3
Minehead B 3
THE match started only one place and one point separating the teams. The home side with all the possession but were unable to convert their dominance into goals. While looking for the opening goal, Okehampton were dealt with a sucker punch, getting caught on the break and Minehead scored their first attack of the game.
Undeterred the home side continued to mount the pressure and scored the equaliser ten minutes later through a short corner after some good work from Jake Lloyd found man of the match Brett Lawson free to set himself up and score a thunderous strike. However, as soon they were level, Minehead retook the lead from a penalty flick and when Will Spry had to be taken off due to an injury forcing a reshuffle for Okehampton.
It wasn't until the second half before the home side found their feet again to score their second goal again, through a Toby Lloyd short corner.
The home side had all the momentum and quickly got a third goal after good link up play from Toby Lloyd and Sam Spry found Brett Lawson to get his second. The game changed when Toby Lloyd was sent off for a bad tackle.
Minehead made their man advantage count finally putting ball into the net after the third attempt. The game opened up with both teams having chances to win the game but both defences held on to earn a hard fought point.
