North Okes U12s 52 Sidmouth U12s 21 NORTH Okes gave another dazzling display of open 15 man rugby. Sidmouth opened the scoring when they intercepted a pass and ran straight through. This woke the home side up and the home forwards carried on from last week with excellent scrummaging and good quick ruck ball. Callum Pillivant in good form went in for three tries while Billy Searle had a faultless display at fly half. Luke Liversidge finished a fantastic passage of play where the ball went through 11 pairs of hands before he dotted down the first of his five tries. Will Cooper came in the line at pace and scored next. Sidmouth stuck at it and scored their second try. In the second half North Okes' confidence was high and the quality of rugby was superb. Kieran Lee finished off another good blind side move to score in the corner. North Okes gave away too many penalties in this period but good tackling kept Sidmouth out. Josh Bickley emerged from a maul with the ball after good work from Zac Middleton to barge his way over for North Okes' last try. Louis Day had a fine game on the wing and Josh Punchard is developing his game and becoming an allround player. Sidmouth had the last word by scoring a well deserved try in the dying minutes. Okehampton U9s 5 Sidmouth U9s 45 SIDMOUTH got their first try early on in the game and as hard as the Okes tried to come back, they conceded a further three ties, making it four tries to nil to the away team by the end of the first quarter. Harry Hawker, Matthew Stoner and Jack Raymond put in some good tackles with Liam Pyle keeping the away side from scoring further tries, saving the young Okes from being defeated even more. Patrick Beacon helped keep the team's spirit high, even when Sidmouth were pushing forward. Despite all Joe Mawle's efforts he was only able to get the home side one much deserved try at the end. Saltash U9s 2 tries Tavistock U9s 10 tries TAVISTOCK established as early dominance, the pack asserting itself in both rucks and mauls enabling it to win much turnover ball, allowing centres Reuben (2) and Callum to score. The second half was more evenly matched, however, Tavistock prop Cameron was able to charge his way over the line to score, followed soon after by Callum. The third and final third saw Tavistock take command once more. The whole team worked superbly ripping, rucking and mauling and this was reflected in the scoreline. There were four blistering tries from Callum and a second from Cameron. Devonport S U9s 2 tries Tavistock U9s 0 IN the first of two short matches, both teams defended well, which was evident by the fact that most of the match was played within the mid half of the pitch. Devonport were able to foil all Tavi's try attempts with several falling just short of the line only to be whisked away by the well drilled Devonport line. The second match was again an evenly fought one, both teams blocking each other's attacks. Devonport edged in front with a try at the end of the first half and Tavistock responded with an equalising try by centre Callum in the second. Okehampton U8s 3 tries Sidmouth U8s 8 tries OKEHAMPTON's new formation gelled well against a strong Sidmouth team. Adam Wonnacott and Gregory Daniels were the try scorers for Okehampton and they great strength and stamina. The whole team showed good tagging skills and teamwork. The friendly game resulted in an Okehampton win 3-1 with tries from Greg, Cory and Jack. Okehampton U7s 4 tries Sidmouth U8s 4 tries TWO exciting matches were played. Cole Pengelly opened the scoring for Oke after making a fast break down the wing. After some serious tagging and good field play by both teams, Sidmouth levelled the score. Good possession and teamwork resulted in Okehampton's second try by Joshua Burgoyne (2), but Sidmouth gained the lead before half-time with two more tries. Sidmouth looked dangerous on the break in the second half, but Okehampton's increasingly solid- looking defensive play managed to cope with the pressure. Joshua Burgoyne made a fantastic diving try saving tag while Josh Parsons was unlucky not to score after making a superb break. Oke earned a well-deserved draw after Kai Middleton weaved his way through Sidmouth players to score a try. Okehampton U7s 6 Tries Sidmouth U8s 6 tries Okehampton's Nathan Tomkins scored first, but Sidmouth came back with two tries in quick succession. Okehampton replied with brilliant passing which resulted in a try for Kai Middleton. Okehampton demonstrated excellent teamwork and midfield tagging with Imogen Ogbourne and Will Cunningham making good attacking runs. A pass to Nathan Tomkins resulted in a try. Good passing by Oke saw Josh Burgoyne over the try line twice. Okehampton's sixth try came from a turnover ball picked up by Daniel Turney.
