THE Macular Society has announced it is bringing the first ever Low Vision Road Show to Tavistock on Wednesday November, 9 from 10am to 3pm at the Bedford Hotel.

The event will showcase the latest products and technologies for those with low vision and is a great chance to try before you buy.

Judy Pride, the regional manager for the charity, said: ‘I am really pleased that the companies who provide this very special equipment are coming to Tavistock as the nearest location to see this kind of technology is Plymouth and I’m sure that there are local people with low vision who will be interested in finding out what’s on offer. The British Wireless for the Blind and Blind Veterans UK will also be there, so this really is a great opportunity for anyone with low vision to get local support.’

The Macular Society is the national charity for anyone affected by central vision loss.

A total of 22,000 members make it the biggest patient group in the sight loss sector and the voice of people with macular conditions.

The Macular Society provides free information and support to improve lives and ensure no one has to face macular degeneration alone. There are 300 Macular Society support groups around the UK and beyond, and the charity fund research with the hope that one day macular degeneration can be overcome.
