Tavistock 3

Truro 0

TAVISTOCK men's hockey team lived on their luck to come away with the full three points.

Missing two regular defence and two midfield players through injury, Tavistock knew it was going to be tough.

Tavistock scored an early goal through a fortunate rebound that was put away by Jason Lovett.

The pressure never abated and with the game swinging from end to end

Cowen cleared a ball off the Tavistock line with a brave dive across the keeper to clear what looked to be a sure equaliser. The midfield were struggling to get on top of the visitors and the entire team seemed determined to create as many opportunities for Truro as possible!

The second half continued in a similar vein but Tavistock settled into a better pattern of play and worked the ball methodically down either flank. Jefferys scored a fine reverse stick goal after collecting a through-ball from Honey.

Barrett worked hard in midfield and a long jinking run looked to have been one defender too many until a great cut-back left an easy and clinical score for Lovett's second.

Tavistock have a tough match this Saturday against the University.
