WITH the recent spell of spring sunshine, daffodils and other flowers are already in full bloom, but Bridestowe will be even more awash with colourful flowers at the annual Northmoor Team of Churches' Festival later this year.

The event runs from June 29 to July 1 at St Bridget's Church, ending with a celebration service of evensong on the final day.

The 14 member churches in the Northmoor Team have decided to follow the theme of 'The Queen's Commonwealth', taking inspiration from both the Diamond Jubilee and the 2012 London Olympics.

The flags and national flowers of each of the Commonwealth countries represented are already providing plenty of inspiration for the displays, and the festival promises to be a colourful and enjoyable event.
