A LIFE-sized reconstruction of a Devon farmhouse is providing the ideal setting for an oral history of Dartmoor compiled by the National Park Authority.

?Moor Memories? so far comprises the recorded memories of 64 long-standing Dartmoor inhabitants which are contained on two CDs: ?Rabbits, Whortleberries and Railways? and ?Lovely Days?.

These have been installed at a listening point in Torquay Museum?s Devon farmhouse gallery where visitors can hear tales of turf cutting to provide fuel, farms run on horsepower and the community spirit of the mid-20th century Dartmoor village.

The CDs can also be heard at the National Park information centres in Ashburton and Moretonhampstead as well as at the Museum of Dartmoor Life in Okehampton.

They are available to buy at all the venues or online at http://www.dartmoor-npa.gov.uk">www.dartmoor-npa.gov.uk

Torquay Museum is open between 9.30am and 5.30pm, Monday to saturday and between 1.30pm and 5pm on Sundays.
