TAVISTOCK Lions are organising a partial walk of the town boundary this weekend on Rogation Sunday.

During the walk they will be unveiling a commemorative granite stone. Also at the ceremony the town council's time capsule will be buried by the new mayor.

Lions president Steve Grummitt said members would be meeting at the top of Green Lane and walk around the edge of the golf course to Whitchurch Common to a spot near the football pitch.

'The Lions are putting in a series of boundary markers around Tavistock as part of the continuing millennium celebrations,' he said.

'After the ceremony we will continue the walk along the boundary to the Plymouth Road at Anderton Lane layby where a stone has already been placed.'

The event will be rounded off with a barbecue at the home of one of the Lions club members.
