Through word of mouth I am pleased to hear that the reduction in the opening times of Okehampton swimming pool has been delayed. I believe this is so they can reassess the usage throughout the month of April.

If this is to be the case why have we not been formally told and why has it not been advertised? If a fair judgement is going to be made then members and swim users need to be consulted and properly informed on such matters.

Are questionnaires going to be sent out? Is a meeting for swimming members and users going to be arranged? Are letters and emails going to be replied to?

Is the fact that the Easter holidays and extra bank holidays which occur during April, potentially affecting usage, going to be taken into consideration in their assessment?

It is so frustrating that the pool is given a lifeline and yet no-one seems to be able to give you any formal information. Staff when asked continually say that they do not know anything.

So, please can all swimmers make an even bigger effort than you already can do and illustrate to those that decide, that we want opening times of the pool to be fair for all users!
