A LIFE-saving defibrillator was been presented to Mount Kelly Preparatory School as part of a health education day for women on Saturday.

Nuffield Health, Plymouth Hospital presented a defibrillator to the college for use in its swimming pool area.

A range of topics were covered during the health education event by consultants covering breast care, gynaecology and menopause.

Women attending were able to put their questions to the speakers who were Mr Jonathan Frappell, consultant gynaecologist, Roger Watkins, consultant breast and general surgeon and Dr Sarah Gray, GP specialist in women's health.

Nuffield Health, Plymouth Hospital director David Houghton said: 'I am delighted for Nuffield Health, Plymouth Hospital to be able to present a defibrillator to Mount Kelly College.

'Both Nuffield Health and Mount Kelly are a charity and therefore share many of the same principles and values and it makes sense for us to support one another.

'I am extremely grateful to Mount Kelly for hosting our women's health educational event and I look forward to working with it again in the future.

'For obvious reasons, I hope that the school will never have to make use of our donation, but at the same time I hope it gives it the reassurance that it is suitably prepared to take the necessary action if it is ever required.'
