LEY lines and the mysterious art of dowsing will be discussed at a talk taking place at the Ockment Centre, Okehampton, tomorrow (Friday).

Dartmoor artist John Christian has gained a reputation internationally for his paintings of the region in which he lives.

While artists from all over the world have travelled to his home near South Zeal to gain tuition, John has roamed the area discovering for himself the ?earth energies? of leys.

Since his youth, he has been fascinated by ancient sites and archaeology. When he became interested in dowsing, John began following in the footsteps of Alfred Watkins, who rediscovered leys in the 1920s.

John soon became captivated by these lines that have mystified modern mankind.

John will outline at the meeting his own conclusion that dowsing provides a means of communication with creative forces.

The evening, which is being promoted by the local awareness group, begins at 7.30pm.
