THE success of RGB Building Supplies' Well Built Community Fund has led the builders' merchant to announce that it is relaunching it and will be giving away a further £1,000-worth of building materials every other month until March next year.

Having made donations to a charity, a sports club, school, community group and care home last year, RGB will be calling out for different deserving groups in Okehampton to make contact with them this year and tell them how they can help.

The first giveaway will be to a group, charity or project that supports young people in the area.

Be it a youth centre that is in need of some repair, getting young people involved in a community garden project or providing materials and tools to teach young people a skill — whatever the reason, RGB would like to hear about it.

Further call-outs will be made to animal welfare groups, charities that support the homeless, health and fitness projects, groups that help those with a disability and projects that are focusing on transforming outdoor spaces.

Keith Harris, product and marketing manager at RGB Building Supplies, said: 'As a company with over 150 years of history, it's important for us to give something back to a community that has helped make RGB the success that it is.

'As our Well Built Community Fund proved to be a big hit last year, we're thrilled to be relaunching it and having the opportunity to help more groups and charities complete projects that they may not have been able to do otherwise.'

Groups that work with young people can nominate themselves by contacting RGB Building Supplies and explaining what project they need building materials for and how the support will be of benefit to them. One group will then be chosen from all the nominations to receive £1,000 worth of materials.

Nominations can be made by emailing [email protected]">[email protected] or by sending a letter to RGB Community Fund, c/o PMW Communications, PO Box 167, Bideford, Devon, EX39 9DU. The closing date for nominations is Monday, May 11.
